CCG - Clinical Commissioning Groups

Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) were clinically led groups which included all of the GP groups in their geographical area. They worked with patients and healthcare professionals and in partnership with local communities and local authorities.

 

CQC - the Care Quality Commission

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates all health and social care services in England. The commission ensures the quality and safety of care in hospitals, dentists, ambulances, and care homes, and the care given in people's own homes

CIC - Community Interest Company

Community Interest Companies (CICs) are probably the most well known. They are a special type of limited company which exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders, but are not charities. The legal definition of charity is narrower than non profit.

Social Impact Bond

A SIB is an innovative financing mechanism in which governments or commissioners enter into agreements with social service providers, such as social enterprises or non-profit organisations, and investors to pay for the delivery of pre-defined social outcomes

Social Enterprise Investment Fund

Fund providing debt and equity to growth stage social enterprises and charities. The Fund invests in ambitious social enterprises and charities with sustainable business models that are looking to grow their operations and increase their social impact.
